


The energy emitted by the electrifying City of Rio de Janeiro is nothing short of thrilling, everything is full of life and dance from the beaches of Copacabana to the sweltering Rio De Janeiro. Every year, during the week before Lent, the celebration draws people from all over the world who want to have fun and dance to samba music in the biggest parade in the world.

The merging of African and Portuguese cultures, resulting in the fiery samba.



A highlight of the parade are The Samba Schools. They're some of the finest dancers and musicians in the world and they gather at the parade every year.



The parade at the Sambadrome is the main event and usually what everyone thinks about when Rio Carnival is mentioned. It's held in a stadium and each school selects a theme each year for the basis of their samba song.



Every year, the Rio mayor crowns Monarch Momo, the carnival king, to inaugurate the Rio Carnival.
